The Prudham family pictured at home 'Baby machine' mother dumped A mother dubbed the "baby-machine" has claimed her
cheating husband has walked out on her as she
expects her 12th child.
Cheryl Prudham, 32, claims around £38,000 a year
in child allowances, tax credits and housing
benefit with her 30-year-old husband Robert.
But she says she would rather live as a single
mother than continue living with him.
She told the Sunday People: "He’s been
unfaithful more than ten times. Things went wrong
quite early on. Two weeks before we got married he
was cheating.
"At that time I was eight months pregnant with our
first son, Leon, and I felt I had no choice but to
get on with it. It was a mistake but I was naive
and just hoped it was a one-off.
"I was desperate to have a stable family life and
give the kids a home with a mum and a dad –
something I’d never had but always craved."
Mrs Prudham also revealed on Facebook the sex of
her baby, saying: "I'm having a GIRL!!" which was
greeted with congratulations.
She then added her eighth girl will have a
double-barrelled name, saying: "I want a double
barrel name, first name needs to begin with L like
my Lexi-Rose, Lacey-May and Lainey-girl."
She later said that due to the amount of children
she already has, she has "run out of ideas" for
names.
Just hours after posting the news, she shared a
scan of the baby with the caption "my princess".
Finally, she decided against the child's name
beginning with "L" and revealed she will call the
baby "Tillie-Grace"
The mother, from Gravesend, Kent, who had twins in
August, hit the headlines at the beginning of the
year after posting a scan of her 12th child.
Before quickly saying it was a joke - yet it
wasn't.
Mrs Prudham has previously claimed it is "easy" to
claim tens of thousands of pounds in benefits.
The Prudham's earn more than the Government's
£26,000-a-year benefits cap because working as
carers allows them to claim tax credits.
Mrs Prudham, who had her first son when she was 17
and living in a homeless hostel, says she is proud
of having 11 children. She has insisted she is not
a "lazy layabout" and says her husband also
works.
She told Closer magazine: "It's the Government's
fault I've got so many kids. It's easy to claim
benefits.
"I've always wanted a big family and being a mum
is the best feeling in the world. We didn't rush
into the decision to have more children lightly
but we knew we'd be able to afford it."
Mrs Prudham found out she was pregnant in October,
just weeks after she had her twin daughters.
The couple, who lived in a five-bedroom
semi-detached council home both work 20 hours a
week as carers for the elderly.
Mrs Prudham had her first child, George, 14 when
she was just 17, then had Jack, 13, Caitlin, nine,
Maisie, eight, Millie, six and Madison, six, all
from previous relationships.
With Mr Prudham, she had Leon, four, Lenny, three,
Lainey, 23 months and Lacey-May and Lexi-Rose who
were born in September.
When asked about her claims, he told the Sunday
People she was a "liar", then admitted he had
cheated while the couple were "on a break" from
each other.
He said: "She’s been with people behind my back.
I’m not allowed to see the kids, I haven’t a
clue why. It’s over. We split up because she is
pregnant with someone else’s baby."
