VOLTA  REGION

The Volta Region with its Capital, Ho, lies to the east of Ghana, sharing borders with Togo. It is named after the Volta River. Known as the region of contrasts, the Volta Region has the lowest point in Ghana - the Keta Lagoon basin - lying below sea level - and the highest point - Mountain Afadjato, 2905 ft above sea level. The Region extends from the Atlantic Coast to the fringes of the Savanna grassland northwards.
