W/R retains Council of State rep after re-run
Incumbent Council of State representative for the
Western Region Eunice Jacqueline Buah beat off
competition from her two-time challenger Ntori
Bonkyi Akomea in a fiercely contested election to
win the re-run on Monday, February 15.


Eunice Jacqueline Buah secured 24 votes as against
Nana Bonkyi Akomea’s 4 votes to retain her
position.



Last Friday when the Electoral Commission
conducted the election for a Council of State
representative for the Western Region, there was
no winner.

W/R Council of State polls tie; run-off on Monday
Incumbent Eunice Jacqueline Buah secured 14 votes
while her challenger Ntori Bonkyi Akomea also had
14 votes.

In total, 28 people voted.

On Monday when the two met for the re-election,
they were both in high spirit.

But before voting, Nana Akomea expressed
reservation about the conduct of some members of
the electoral college.
