5 Ghanaian players who excelled over the weekend
Over the weekend, several Ghanaian players across
the continent put in performances that will be
worthy of a place in coach Kwesi Appiah's 23-man
for AFCON 2019.

Here are the top five who excelled this weekend:

Ebenezer Ofori

Ghanaian midfielder Ebenezer Ofori opened his
account for New York City FC in the 2-2 draw with
Orlando City.

The 23-year-old midfielder scored in the 12-minute
mark with a spectacular drive just outside the box
to give New York City FC the lead.

John Antwi

Ghana international forward John Antwi over the
weekend put in a scintillating performance as he
aided his club Misr Makkasa to defeat El Entag El
Harby in the Egyptian League.

Antwi scored the third goal for his side in their
3-1 away win over El Entag El Harby.

The former Dreams FC player has now bagged 8 goals
in 19 matches this season.

Andy Yiadom

Andy Yiadom played the full 90 minutes for Reading
in the 2-1 away over Ipswich. He has registered 33
appearances for Reading while scoring a solitary
goal.

William Owusu Acheampong

The 29-year-old scored his seventh goal of the
season for Royal Antwerp against KAS Eupen in the
Belgium League over the weekend.

Daniel Darkwah

The left-back got his debut for Kotoko over the
weekend in the CAF Confederation Cup. He deputised
for the suspended captain Amos Frimpong and he won
the admiration of the fans with his superb
performance. He wiped in a dangerous cross which
resulted in the Porcupines second goal for the
day. His output yesterday made a strong case for
the left-back slot for the senior national team.
