Girl, 16, defiled and impregnated, survives abortion attempt by suspect
A 16 year old form 3 pupil at Klo -Agogo in the
Yilo Municipality of the Eastern Region has
survived an abortion attempt by a 45- year old
man, Joseph Nanor who allegedly defiled and
impregnated her.

The victim, currently four months pregnant, is
till in school despite her condition as she
perseveres to write BECE examination to enable her
pursue her nursing career.

According to the victim, the suspect admitted
having had sexual intercourse with her when she
approached him.

Few weeks later, she became pregnant which the
suspect accepted responsibility and promised the
mother that he was committed to taking care of the
victim and the baby but later coerced her to take
some drugs to terminate the pregnancy however, the
abortion was not successful.

The incident was reported to the Eastern Regional
Headquarters of the Domestic Violence and Victims
Support Unit (DOVVSU) where medical form was
issued and Doctors report confirmed the incident.

The suspect sensing danger has gone into hiding.

Collins James Amoah, a concerned resident in the
area has vowed to seek justice for the victim.

According to him, the community is notorious for
sexual violence but are not reported to the
Police.
