Kosta Papic Kosta Papic steps down as Hearts of Oak head coach Hearts of Oak head coach, Kosta Papic, has
resigned from his role after just two months in
charge.
The 60-year-old made this known to the club at a
lengthy board meeting on Monday, February 15,
2021.
The Serbian trainer replaced Edward Odoom in
November 2020 for a second spell and led the
Phobians in 10 matches in the ongoing Ghana
Premier League, where he won four, drew three and
lost three.
Papic cited personal reasons for his decision and
turned down several pleas from board members on
Monday to stay.
His assistant, Joseph Asare Bediako, resigned
earlier on February 10 from his post, citing
circumstances beyond his control.
The team’s physical trainer conducted the
club’s training session today. Hearts of Oak
must look for a new head coach to take charge of
the first-team coaching duties.
They lie 11th on the league log with 17 points,
playing 13 matches. One less the 14 played so far
because of the postponement of their week 14 game
against Asante Kotoko. Source - MyNewsGh.com
