Uganda unveil ambitious preparation plans for AFCON
Ghana's group opponents Uganda have unveiled an
ambitious seven-week preparation programme meant
to whip the side into shape for the 2017 Africa
Cup of Nations in Gabon.

Cranes’ coach Micho Sredojevic unveiled his
build-up plans which started on Wednesday as they
seek to make the team competitive to face the
Black Stars in the group phase of the tournament.

The players started their preparation programme on
Wednesday when they trained at the Mandela
national stadium in Namboole.

The coach will intensify the training programmeas
they will play a couple of local friendly games.

The technical team will then announce a final list
of thirty players to continue bracing for the
Africa Cup of Nations finals.

The players will then head into a ten days’
break before regrouping on December 19th for
training.

Cranes players will then shake off the excesses of
Christmas with a boxing day training session as
they tune up for an international build up game at
a venue yet to be confirmed.

2017 will find Cranes players in Tunisia where
they shall have a training camp as well as play
two international build up games.

Dubai will be the Uganda Cranes’ next stop with
two more international tune up matches as well as
a training camp being conducted.

The Cranes will return to Africa and connect to
Gabon through Addis Ababa on 13th January.

Micho says this ambitious tune up programme can
only give Uganda an edge over its opponents in
Gabon if the government plays its part.

Uganda will come up against, Egypt and Mali at the
group stage of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations
finals.

Meanwhile Ghana have not revealed their training
plans as most of their players are based abroad
playing in ongoing leagues in Europe.
