Inter Milan sack de Boer, seek new coach Inter Milan have dismissed coach Frank de Boer
with the team languishing 12th in Serie A having
lost five of 11 matches, three-time European
Champions said Tuesday.
The Nerazzurri crashed 1-0 at Sampdoria Sunday in
their fourth defeat from the last five. They trail
league leaders Juventus by 13 points despite one
of their four season victories coming against the
reigning title holders.
Youth coach Stefano Vecchi has been appointed
interim boss and will lead the squad into
Thursday's Europa League trip to Southampton.
"It's a pity it ended like this," de Boer said on
Instagram. "It took more time to keep this project
going. I want to thank all the fans for their
support during these months."
The club was said to be considering Stefano Pioli,
formerly at Lazio, as De Boer's replacement, with
Francesco Guidolin, Andrea Mandorlini and Andre
Villas-Boas also being mooted.
The Dutchman De Boer took over in August from
Roberto Mancini. In June, the Nerazzurri changed
ownership as Indonesian media magnate Erick
Thohir, who remained as president, sold a
controlling share to China's Suning Holdings
Group. Source - GNA
