GFA investigate Avram Grant Ghana coach Avram Grant will be investigated by
the country’s Football Association for making an
appearance on Sky Sports last week.
Ghana FA Vice President George Afriyie confirmed
the decision following the coach’s punditry
stint with the British broadcaster a day after the
2017 Afcon draw in Libreville. Although Afriyie
acknowledged that the Israeli was not at the draw
with the FA’s permission, he appeared to take
exception to the Sky Sports gig.
“Grant was not scheduled to travel to Gabon,
nothing like Grant was supposed to be in Gabon and
he is there.”
“I was there [in Gabon] myself and I can count
eight of the 16 federations who were
present,’’ Afriyie told Joy Sports in Accra.
“Per the FA and Avram Grant’s programme, Grant
was to continue his monitoring process and to
submit his list 14 days before the game against
Egypt.’’
Afriyie went on: “I was told he made an
appearance on Sky Sports which is not part of his
programme and I can tell you the federation will
investigate it.’’
In the Sky appearance, Grant gave his thoughts on
the draw, which saw the Black Stars paired with
Egypt, Uganda and Mali and also commented on
English Premier League games. Source - Kasapafm
