EXCLUSIVE: Ghana to organise Under-15 Youth League
Head of the Technical Directorate at the Ghana
Football Association, Oti Akenten has revealed in
an exclusive interview with Ultimate FM that the
FA will soon organise an Under-15 Youth League in
the country.
The backbone of countries that are doing very well
in football has been the existence of proper youth
football system.
Akenten, a former AshantiGold trainer revealed
that the rationale behind this league will be to
help development talents at the grassroots level
to complement the U-17.
In an interview on the Ultimate Sports Zone with
Benjamin Yamoah, he stated that president of the
FA, Kwesi Nyantakyi will soon officially announce
and outline the details of the Youth League.
“He [Kwesi Nyantakyi] has been able to secure an
agreement with FIFA in that regard. FIFA wants all
African member associations to implement the youth
league system to help in the development of
talents on the continent.”
Fifa launched the youth league system in Malawi
last year and has since been enjoying nurturing
players.
