My father is more skillful than Okocha - Andre Ayew
The deputy captain of the Black Stars Andre Ayew
says his father Abedi Ayew Pele is more skillful
on the field than Nigerian legend Jay Jay Okocha.

According to him, although both retired players
had different styles of play, the former Ghana
captain is more adept with the ball.

Speaking to Bola Ray on Starr Chat Wednesday, the
Swansea forward said his dad showed more finesse
and tactics during his playing days.

“I will say Abedi Pele is the most skillful. He
had a lot of skills even though their style of
play was different. He showed a lot of technique
and a lot of finesse in his game. And also I saw
all his games, I also saw Jay Jay Okocha; he was
my generation. It’s sad that he never won the
African best player; football is like that,” he
said.

Dede Ayew also commended both the current captain
of the Black Stars Asamoah Gyan and his
predecessor Stephen Appiah for their contributions
to the growth of the team.

“They are both good leaders in their ways, they
have different ways of leading the team. Stephen
was a good leader and Asamoah is also great. They
both have the ambition of improving the team and
we are thankful to them”.
