Ghana Premier League: Top-flight Ghana league set to secure Vodafone sponsorship The Ghana Premier League is very close to sealing
a sponsorship deal with Telecommunication Giant,
Vodafone for the ongoing season.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has been in
talks with several corporate entities, following
the decision of First Capital Plus Bank now
Capital Bank to suspend its sponsorship because it
was embarking on restructuring.
However, Vodafone which used to be One Touch was
the headline sponsor of the Ghana Premier League,
before Glo replaced it, so it would be a reunion.
Premier league clubs have been going through
torrid times, after realising the league was going
to be played without a headline sponsor, so it
would be a refreshing news for the Vodafone deal
to be completed.
The 2015-16 Ghana Premier League delayed to kick
off due to litigation, but it was given the green
light to commence on 20 February and it continues
this weekend in 7 league centres, with exception
of Kumasi, where the Kotoko-Ashgold game has been
declared outstanding to enable the latter engage
M.O Bejaia in the second leg of their CAF
Champions League campaign.
