WRAP: How Ghanaian Players fared abroad
Ghana star Christian Atsu enjoyed a flying start
to life in the Spanish La Liga by scoring a
trademark finish for Malaga on Saturday.

The Black Stars winger has joined the Blue and
Whites on loan from Chelsea and made instant
impact.

Winger Frank Acheampong also hit a double for
Anderlecht in Belgium while former Inter Milan
Primavera forward Said Ahmed Said netted a brace
for Olhanenese in Portugal.

There were also goals for youngsters Nii Nortey
Ashong and Emmanuel Gyasi in the Italian
lower-tier league.

Defender John Boye returned from injury in Turkey
and Elvis Manu made his debut for Huddersfield in
the English Championship.

Ghana-target Inaki Williams was sent off while in
action in Spain.
This is a comprehensive lowdown on how Ghanaian
players fared abroad over the weekend.

SPAIN

Christian Atsu marked his La Liga debut for Malaga
by scoring their second goal on Friday night as
they hammered Getafe 3-0. Bernard Mensah was
unused by Getafe.

Ghana-target Inaki Williams was sent off for
receiving a double booking while in action for
Athletic Club in their 0-0 draw with Villarreal on
Saturday.

Wakaso Mubarak came off the bench in the 61st
minute to play for Las Palmas in their 2-0 away
loss at Rayo Vallecano.

Young midfielder Thomas Partey made his La Liga
debut at Atletico Madrid in their 3-1 win over
Eibar. The former Tema Youth star was replaced in
the 59th minute.

In the Segunda Division, midfielder Mohammed Fatau
played the full 90 minutes for Almeria when they
drew 0-0 with Osasuna.

Kassim Nuhu was not a member of the Real Mallorca
side that drew 2-2 with Athletic Club B.

Ghana goalkeeper Razak Brimah missed Cordoba's 3-3
draw at Alcorcon due to suspension.

BELGIUM

Winger Frank Acheampong scored a brace and played
full throttle for Anderlecht when they shared the
spoils in a 2-2 draw with KV Mechelen.

Bennard Kumordzi started the game for KRC Genk and
played 65 minutes when they won 1-0 against
Mouscron-Péruwelz.

Mitch Apau played for Westerlo and helped them to
draw 1-1 with Kortrijk. Former New Edubiase United
midfielder Asiedu Attobrah was not in the Kortrijk
squad for the game.

Pocket-size midfielder Samuel Asamoah warmed the
bench for OH Leuven when they shared the spoils in
a 2-2 draw with Waasland-Beveren.

Nana Akwasi Asare was booked in the 74th minute
and played the entire game for Gent who lost 1-0
against Club Brugge.

Benjamin Tetteh was brought on in the 58th minute
by Standard Liege who lost 2-1 against St
Truiden.

Meanwhile in the Second Division, striker Kwame
Nsor was not in the FC Seraing side that lost 2-1
against Dessel Sport.

There was no William Owusu in the FC Antwerp side
that lost 2-1 to Tubize.

Former Liberty Professionals boy Eugene Ansah
played the full 90 minutes for Lommel United when
they lost 1-0 against SV Roeselare.

ENGLAND

Defender Baba Rahman warmed the Chelsea bench in
their 1-1 draw with Manchester United in the
Premier League's top-liner on Sunday.

Suspended Jordan Ayew watched from the stands at
the Villa Park as Remi Garde's side posted a 2-0
win over Norwich City.

Swansea City split points with Crystal Palace in a
1-1 draw at the Liberty Stadium in South Wales.
Andre Ayew lasted 82 minutes for the Swans while
English-born midfielder Hiram Boateng came off the
Palace bench to play in the 78th minute.

Both Jeffrey Schlupp and Daniel Amartey were out
of the Leicester City team when the league leaders
hammered Manchester City 3-1 at the Etihad
Stadium.

In the Championship, Ghana attacker Elvis Manu
came off the bench in the 78th minute to play for
Huddersfield in their 2-1 away loss at Preston
North End.

Albert Adomah played until he was replaced in the
second-half by Middlesbrough who drew 1-1 with
Blackburn Rovers.

Koby Arthur could not make the Birmingham City
squad for their 2-1 home loss against Sheffield
Wednesday.

Veteran striker Derek Asamoah was introduced in
the 78th minute to play for Carlisle United in
their 2-0 win over Accrington Stanley.

GERMANY

Black Stars-bound Gideon Jung came off the Hamburg
SV bench in the 67th minute to play in their 1-1
draw with FC Cologne. The draw ended Hamburg's
four-game losing streak.

Defender Daniel Opare failed to make the Augsburg
squad when they lost 2-1 against Ingolstadt.

In the Bundesliga II, defender Davidson
Drobo-Ampem was brought on in the 86th minute by
St Pauli when they won 2-0 against Greuther
Furth.

Manfred Osei-Kwadwo could not make the
Kaiserslautern team when they drew 2-2 with Union
Berlin.

Duo Joseph Baffo and Philemon Ofosu-Ayeh were in
full time action for Eintracht Braunschweig who
lost 2-0 against RB Leipzig.

In the third-tier league, Holstein Kiel trekked to
win 3-2 against Fortuna Cologne. Ghanaian
midfielder Kwame Kusi played 81 minutes for
Fortuna but Evans Nyarko was not in the Kiel squad
for the game.

Stuttgart II held Wurzburger Kickers to a 0-0 draw
at their own backyard. Ghanaian striker Prince
Owusu came off the bench to play for Stuttgart
II.

Eric Berko played the full 90 minutes for
Stuttgarter Kickers when they won 2-0 against
Hansa Rostock.

ITALY

Ghanaian youth defender Bright Gyamfi could not
maintain his place in the Inter Milan team for
their 3-3 draw at Hellas Verona on Sunday.

Godfred Donsah assisted the equalising goal for
Bologna and played the entire 90 minutes when they
drew 1-1 with Fiorentina.

Napoli continued their leadership of the Serie A
after beating Carpi 1-0. Ghanaian midfielder Isaac
Cofie was an unused substitute by Carpi.

Afriyie Acquah was absent from the Torino squad as
they suffered a 2-1 home loss against Chievo
Verona.

Raman Chibsah played 72 minutes for Frosinone who
were humbled 2-0 by Juventus at the Stadio
Comunale Matusa. Kwadwo Asamoah was not in the
Juventus squad because of injury.

Meanwhile former Inter Milan midfielder Alfred
Duncan was introduced in the 78th minute by
Sassuolo who drew 2-2 with Palermo. Swedish-born
Ghanaian Robin Quaison was in action for Palermo.

Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu played full throttle at the
San Siro and was booked in the 27th minute as
Udinese held AC Milan to a 2-2 draw. Kevin-Prince
Boateng replaced M'Baye Niang in the 62nd minute
to play for Milan.

In the Serie B, Inter Milan loanee Isaac Donkor
played the entire minutes of the game for Bari who
lost 3-2 against Crotone. AC Milan loanee Kingsley
Boateng was unused by Bari.

Masahudu Alhassan was not in the Perugia team that
drew 0-0 with ten man Spezia.

Amidu Salifu marked his debut for Brescia by
coming off the bench to play in their 2-1 loss at
Pro Vercelli.

Salernitana fought with nine men to draw 2-2 with
Pescara. Former Ghana U20 star Moses Odjer played
the entire minutes of the game for Salernitana but
Ransford Selasi was not in the Pescara team for
the game.

2009 Ghana U20 defender Bright Addae was voted man
of the match when Ascoli drew 0-0 with Latina.
Ghanaian pair of Maxwell Acosty and Richmond
Boakye played for Latina.

Prince Besea warmed the Modena bench in their 0-0
draw with Cesena.

Meanwhile in the third-tier league, Dennis Kumih
came off the Rimini bench late in the second-half
to play in their 3-0 loss at Maceratese.

Former Fiorentina defender Nii Nortey Ashong
played in defence for Lucchese and scored their
consolation goal when they lost 2-1 against Robur
Siena.

Both Caleb Ekuban and Isaac Ntow played for Renate
who lost 2-0 against leaders Pordenone.

Torino loanee Emmanuel Gyasi scored the only goal
of the game for Carrarese when they pipped
Tuttocuoio 1-0.

NETHERLANDS

German-born Ghanaian defender Marcel Appiah came
off the NEC Nijmegen bench in the 29th minute to
play in their 1-1 away draw against Graafschap.
Marvin Ofori-Appiah was not in the NEC squad for
the game.

At the Euroborg, Dutch-born Ghanaian defender
Johan Kappelhof was suspended and missed FC
Groningen's 2-0 home triumph over Cambuur.

Rodney Antwi could not bring into the FC Utrecht
squad for their 2-0 home loss against PSV
Eindhoven.

Elsewhere in Heerenveen, Manchester City loanee
Thomas Agyepong came off the FC Twente bench to
assist the second goal in their 3-1 win over
Heerenveen.

At Den Haag, Roda JC helped themselves to a 2-2
draw with ADO Den Haag. Dutch-born Ghanaian
attacker Edwin Gyasi was not in the Roda squad for
the game.

In the Second-tier league, Johnathan Opoku
returned from suspension to play for VVV Venlo in
their 3-1 away loss at Sparta Rotterdam.

In other games, Helmond Sport won 3-2 at the
expense of Emmen. Ghanaian-born Aruba
international Erixon Danso scored his 10th league
of the season for Emmen while Raymond Gyasi also
played the full 90 minutes for Emmen.

FC Eindhoven defeated Ajax II 2-1. Ghanaian
defender Leeroy Owusu started and finished the
game for Ajax II but his compatriot Elton Acolatse
was unused by Ajax II.

Another Manchester City loanee Divine Naah came
off the NAC Breda bench in the 62nd minute to play
in their 2-0 away loss against Dordrecht.

AUSTRIA

Ghana youth midfielder David Atanga warmed the
bench for Red Bull Salzburg as they overcame
Admira 2-1 on the resumption of the Austrian
top-flight league.

FRANCE

Ghana striker Majeed Waris was replaced after just
45 minutes while his Lorient side drew 1-1 with
Montpellier on Saturday.

Dennis Appiah was a full timer for Caen who lost
2-0 against visiting Stade Reims. Striker Grejohn
Kyei missed the game with injury.

Manchester City loanee Yaw Yeboah failed to make
the Lille first team squad for their 1-1 draw with
Stade Rennes.

In the Ligue 2, defender Jonathan Mensah came off
the Evian bench in the 83rd minute to play in
their 1-0 win over FC Paris.

Ghana U20 defender Emmanuel Ntim was not in the
Valenciennes team that drew 2-2 with Créteil.

In the third-tier league, midfielder Joachim
Adukor came off the bench to play the last 20
minutes for Béziers who beat Belfort 1-0.

Charles Boateng played for Avranches in their 0-0
draw with Fréjus St-Raphaël on Friday.

TURKEY

Defender Samuel Inkoom was in superb shape in
defence for Antalyaspor who hammered giants
Fenerbache 4-0 in the Super Lig on Friday.

Elsewhere, John Boye returned from injury to play
for Sivasspor in their 4-0 heavy loss at
Osmanl?spor.

Both Moro Ibrahim and Joseph Attamah played for
Adana Demirspor in their 1-0 loss at Boluspor.

PORTUGAL

Emmanuel Hackmann was absent from the Boavista
squad that beat Paços de Ferreira 1-0. Ghanaian
youth star Osei Barnes was introduced in the 63rd
minute.

Emmanuel Boateng and Ernest Ohemeng were both on
the Moreirense bench when they won 1-0 against
União Madeira.

Richard Ofori was not in the Academica Coinbra
side that drew 2-2 with Nacional.

Lumor Agbenyenu was unused by Portimonense who
defeated Sporting B 2-0 in the second-tier
league.

Winger Ishmael Yartey warmed the bench for Gil
Vicente in their 2-2 draw at Famalicão.

Ghanaian attacker Said Ahmed Said scored a brace
for Olhanense and helped them to beat Vitoria
Guimaraes 3-1.

Emmanuel Oti played 70 minutes for Sporting Braga
B who drew 2-2 with UD Oliveirense.

CYPRUS

Chris Dickson scored the only goal of the game for
Ermis as they pipped Ayia Napa 1-0. Daniel Mensah
was on the Napa bench while Ulyss Ndong and
Mustapha Quanyor played for Ermis.

Carlos Ohene played 74 minutes for AEL Limassol
who lost 2-0 against visiting Enosis.

SOUTH AFRICA

Defender Lawrence Lartey was a pillar in defence
for Ajax Cape Town who defeated Supersport United
3-1 in an away fixture.

Elsewhere in Pretoria, Ghana midfielder Edwin
Gyimah was booked in the 13th minute and played
the entire game for Orlando Pirates who won 1-0
against Pretoria University.

SWITZERLAND

Ebenezer Assifuah was not in the FC Sion side that
won 1-0 against FC Zurich.

In the Challenge League striker Samuel Afum was
not in the Xamax team that won 1-0 against Chiasso
on Saturday.
