Chelsea fans boo Diego, Fabregas
Jose Mourinho was sacked last Thursday after
losing against Leicester City,

which left Chelsea one point off the relegation
zone.

Blues fans were not happy with the decision and
their anger spilt over into their Premier League
clash.

Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas, two of the players
who have most severely underperformed in this
campaign, were booed by the Stamford Bridge
audience as their names were read out prior to
kick-off.

Both players also came in for an earful when they
were substituted. Fabregas’ ovation was
decidedly mixed while Costa endured a reaction
that was rather less flattering.

The fans also voiced their displeasure at Roman
Abramovich by incessantly chanting Jose
Mourinho’s name at various points throughout the
contest. Furthermore, a ‘stand up for the
Special One’ rendition had the whole stadium on
their feet and partaking in sustained rapturous
applause.

Rumours linking Cesc Fabregas with a dressing room
revolt have certainly not helped the Spaniard’s
case during his poor personal form. Costa,
meanwhile, has been too busy fighting with the
opposition and the officials to bother fulfilling
his duty as a centre forward appropriately.

His disappearance down the tunnel soon after
coming off will do little but augment calls for
his sale in January.

Fortunately, Chelsea managed to get ahead early,
and despite some nervy moments at the end, they
held on for the win. There is no telling what sort
of hell would have broken loose should the Blues
have fallen behind.

This was quite an afternoon at Stamford Bridge and
one that will hopefully enable the supporters to
move on. There was no doubt that they were going
to demonstrate their frustration and they were
well within their right do so. With the anger now
publicly vented, it is time for the club to once
again come together and carry each other out of
this mess.

With Norwich City winning, Chelsea have not
exactly broken free from a relegation battle as of
yet. If the Blues are to climb back up the table,
the fans will need to show the players the same of
sort of support that they have always shown the
club as a whole.
