Arhinful doubts André Ayew can beat Yaya Touré to 2015 CAF Player of the Year
Former Ghana player Augustine Arhinful says Black
Stars deputy skipper Andre Ayew is less fancied to
win the 2015 African Footballer of the year award
after making the three-man shortlist for the
covetous prize.

The Swansea star made the final cut alongside
Gabon’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Borussia
Dortmund and Ivory Coast and Manchester City star
Yaya Toure.

“Over the last calendar year he ( Yaya Toure)
has won the Nations Cup, Dede has played well and
scored goals but Ghana lost ultimately on
penalties to Ivory Coast,” said Arhinful in an
interview with Joy Sports

“Aubameyang is doing so well in club side but on
the national level, their team is not that okay so
you would want to say Yaya Toure is a bit ahead of
Dede and Aubameyang.

“If he (Yaya Toure) wins, fine you can’t
complain because he has done well for both club
and country.”

Toure beat Dede Ayew and Aubameyang to the BBC
African player of the year gong, which was awarded
last week.
