VVIP seats for rent at Baba Yara Stadium
The VVIP seats at the Baba Yara Stadium are being
rented out for Gh¢1,500 per annum as stadium
authorities struggle to maintain the facility.

Stadium authorities believe this is an innovative
way of fixing seats they would otherwise struggle
to raise money to put in shape.

At a price of Ghc1, 500, one can secure a VVIP
seat at the home of Kumasi Asante Kotoko and the
Black Stars for up to one year.

All 155 seats at the VVIP area are broken and
authorities want to use money accrued from the
lease to fix the seats.

“We don’t have money now to fix the broken
VVIP seats and we don’t know when government
will give us money,” Richard Iddrisu, Director
of Sports for Ashanti region told Ultimate 106.9
FM in Kumasi.

He added: “So what we intend doing is that we
will rent out the seats to stakeholders and to the
general public and then use the money to fix the
seats. They will have access to the seat for one
year with their special ID cards, and after that
we will take back ownership.”
