Ghana have improved tremendously - Grant The Black Stars coach believes the 1982 winners of
the Nations Cup have come of age, despite starting
the tournament poorly
Ghana coach Avram Grant has patted the Black Stars
on the back following their quarter-final win over
Guinea.
The ex-Chelsea boss said the team has improved in
the Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea and
are ready to take on any team.
Ghana put up a great performance defeating group D
runners-up Guinea by three goals to two on Sunday
evening.
“We are taking it game after game and the team
have improved tremendously,” Grant said at a
post-match press conference.
“We did not start the tournament all that well
because though we played well in the first game
against Senegal we lost.”
Ahead of the game, Grant tinkered with his squad
by giving Crystal Palace forward Kwesi Appiah his
debut start for the Black Stars in place of
Lorient striker Jordan Ayew. According to him,
every player deserves to start.
He said: “It does not matter who are selected to
play, we have a large squad of quality players.
Jordan did his best and when Appiah was given his
chance he has also done his best. All Ghanaians
and everybody should support whoever gets the
nod.”
“We will go back and prepare for the game
against Equatorial Guinea on Wednesday and see
what will happen,” Grant added. Source - Goal.com
