Ghana FA vice president Crentsil approved Nigeria's new stadium for CAF Ghana FA vice-president Fred Crentsil approved
Nigeria’s newly constructed Akwa Ibom stadium
for CAF ahead of Wednesday’s showdown against
South Africa.
The stage is set for a historic encounter with the
Bafana after the continent’s governing body, CAF
approved the new facility to host the must-win
encounter.
Nigeria managed a resounding 2-0 win over Congo to
put themselves in pole position to qualify to the
tournament in Equatorial Guinea.
The Confederation of African Football, CAF,
confirmed the 30,000 capacity Akwa Ibom
International Stadium as venue for the November 19
cracker when a delegation of the Continental
football body, led by the vice-president of the
Ghana Football Association, Mr. Fred Crentsil
inspected the facility.
Mr. Crentsil, during the inspection, remarked that
“You guys have a wonderful facility here. It is
one of the best I have seen anywhere around Africa
and elsewhere.”
