Ghanaian teenager Bernard Mensah scored a double
for his Portuguese side Vitoria Guimaraes in their
3-0 win over Penafiel on Friday in the Primeira
Liga.
Mensah, 19, set the ball rolling when he headed
home from an Andre Andre free-kick in the 31st
minute.
The Ghanaian then capitalised on some questionable
defending by the visitors to knock the ball home
for a second 23 minutes into the second half.
Joao Afonso drew a superb reflex save from
goalkeeper Julio Coelho as he came agonisingly
close to putting the result beyond all doubt.
Tomane nodded home from a Hernani cross in the
89th minute.
In 2011, Mensah was invited to the depleted Black
Stars squad that was set to play a friendly with
Nigeria and trained with the rest of the squad at
the Vicarage Road Stadium in London but has since
not earned a call-up.
He is currently in his second season with the
Braquinhos, having joined in 2013/14 season and
having scored 11 times in 28 outings for their
youth side. Source - Ghanasoccer
