2014 World Cup: Ghana don't deserve early exit, says captain Asamoah Gyan
Captain Asamoah Gyan believes it will be unfair
for Ghana to exit the 2014 World Cup after the
group stage due to the good form the team has
began showing at the tournamen t.

The Black Stars have emerged as one of the toasts
of the tournament being staged in Brazil following
their thrilling 2-2 draw with European giants
Germany on Saturday.

The impressive showing against the three-time
winners was after a shocking 2-1 defeat to the
United States which now leaves Ghana's continued
stay in the competition in the hands of their
Group G opponents.

The Black Stars must now hope that the USA fail to
pick anymore points in the competition in their
remaining two games against Portugal and Germany
to remain in contention for qualification to the
Round of 16.

But Asamoah Gyan who scored Ghana's second in
their highly entertaining draw with Germany on
Saturday in Fortaleza believes his team really
deserve to remain in the tournament beyond the
group phase.

'I will say football again is unfair [if Ghana
exits after the group stage],' he said.

'This a very good team and we play very good
football as you saw today [against Germany].

'But we now have to wait and see, you have to be
very honest here.

'Now we hope Portugal does us a favour and beat
the USA so we remain in the tournament. This is
part of football.'

Ghana hope to be going into the final Group G game
against Portugal with all to fight for after an
expected Portuguese win over the United States on
Sunday.

The Black Stars have just a single point after two
round of matches and now have a very slim but
possible chance of progression.
