Black Star expected to shine?
It never takes long for politicians to begin
bandwagoning the tournament and early plaudits
must go to Ghana president John Mahama. At a state
dinner to mark the squad's departure for a
training camp, he mistook sport for something more
important.
"We expect that you die a little bit for your
country." He said, before adding an equally
deluded mission statement: "We expect and pray
that for the first time in our history Ghana wins
the World Cup."
