Kotoko through to Round of 16 in FA Cup Asante Kotoko strolled into the Round of 16 for
the fourth-straight season of the MTN FA Cup after
a 3-0 victory against third-round opponents First
Klass.
Attackers Issah Yakubu, Isaac Boakye and Aminu
Mohammed scored a goal each to complete the
formalities at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday
against the third-tier side.
Yakubu opened the scoring after 42 minutes in the
first half to put Kotoko in front.
Former Black Stars striker, Boakye, who has made a
return to his former Club after stints in Europe
doubled Kotoko's lead 20 minutes later when he
registered his first competitive goal for the
Porcupine Warriors.
With four minutes to end the game, Aminu sealed
victory in the knockout fixture.
There was no joy in Tarkwa for Pure Joy FC as the
Division One side feel to Cup holders, Medeama.
The Mauves won the game 2-0 to keep their title
defence on course.
At the Robert Mensah Stadium, Berekum Chelsea were
1-0 winners over UCC Youngsters.
