Seidu Bancey is in good form Kotoko warn South Africa club to stay away from striker Seidu Bancey Kotoko have warned three South African clubs
seeking the signature of Seidu Bancey that they
will not allow the in-form striker to move abroad
as the African Champions League looms.
Bancey, who is considered the Ghana Premier
League’s hottest striker, has attracted some
interest from some top-flight South African
teams.
Scouts of some South African team visiting the
Local Black Stars camp in South Africa have
pinpointed the striker for signing this month.
But the acting Kotoko GM Samuel Opoku Nti has
ruled out any possibility of the club selling any
of its players as part of the pragmatic measures
being taken by management to steer the club to the
CAF Champions League trophy this season.
“No, we are not going to sell any player now”,
he stated categorically in response to a concern
raised by a journalist.
“I mean, why would you want to sell a player
when really you want to win the Champions
League?”
Kotoko will be making their 24th appearance in
Africa this season, starting off with Liberia’s
Barrack Young Controllers in Kumasi on February 9,
and, as has been the case in previous times, there
are fears the club may sell some of its most
priced assets even before the start of the
competition. Source - Ghanasoccer
