Konadu targets winning run after opening victory Maxwell Konadu eyes improvements from his team as
he wants Ghana to maintain their winning African
Nations Championship.
Ghana, after earning a 1-0 win against Congo on
Monday in their opening fixture are second on the
table behind their next opponents, Libya.
Victory came through a deflected effort by
Theophilus Anobaah in the 34th minute in the Group
C contest.
Afterwards, Konadu reflected on a tough 90 minutes
at the Mangaung’s Free State Stadium and hailed
the focus of his team as they held a very physical
Congo side at bay.
"You agree with that we played better in defence
than in attack," Konadu said.
"There's more room for improvement. I believe the
next match will be better than this [Congo
game]."
Ghana, who lost all three group matches at 2011
CHAN finals in Sudan now have three after the
first game.
However, Konadu returned to the training grounds
in Bloemfontein grounds brimming with confidence
ahead of their next game with group leaders,
Libya, who defeated Ethiopia 2-0 in the other
game.
"We will work on the attack and make sure that
they play better than in the Congo match," said,
the Ghana coach. Source - Ghana FA
