Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has warned his players
that regular playing time with their clubs abroad
will be the key determining factor in his call-ups
to the Black Stars.
The Black Stars trainer insists that regular
playing time is the key to achieving the dreams of
making their third successive World Cup
appearance.
With some of the key European leagues already
underway, Appiah is expecting Black Stars players
to fight for stating places with their clubs to
aid Ghana’s World Cup ambitions.
Some players struggled for playing time last
season but the Ghana coach is hoping for a change
to improve the fortunes of the Black Stars.
“We are all hoping and praying that each and
every player of the Black Stars gets a starting
line-up place in their various clubs,” Appiah
told Radio XYZ.
“It’s not going to be easy but it is
achievable.
“They all need to fight very hard and win the
confidence of their various coaches.
“Once they all get quality playing time, it will
not help them alone but it will be a huge benefit
to the nation at large,” Appiah hinting that he
will rely on players playing regularly for their
clubs.
