Adu-Gyamfi named Kotoko Acting Board Chairman Paul Adu-Gyamfi, a legal practitioner has been
named Acting Chairman of Kumasi Asante Kotoko
following the resignation of Dr Kofi Kodua
Sarpong.
Adu-Gyamfi, a former President of the Ghana Bar
Association (GBA) was elevated to the top position
at a meeting by the Board on Monday, to discuss
issues relevant to the progress of the club.
A highly placed source has informed GNA Sports
that the legal practitioner will serve in that
capacity until the owner of the club, Asantehene
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, makes a pronouncement on the
future direction of the current league champions.
The Porcupine Warriors have been without a Board
chair since Dr. Sarpong tendered his resignation
last week to the Life Patron, a development which
has shaken the foundation of the club.
The meeting according to the source was attended
by seven board members excluding Kabral
Blay-Amihere (Chairman, National Media Commission)
and Madam Agnes Osei.
Also discussed were the financial status of the
club, recruitment for next season as well as the
future of head coach Mas-Ud ‘Didi’ Dramani.
Meanwhile, the Board has resolved to participate
in the Top Four tournament; organized by the Ghana
League Clubs Association and features the top four
clubs at the end of last season.
Other participants for the Top Four are Berekum
Chelsea, Medeama and Ebusua Dwarfs.
Kotoko has been the news in recent times with
revelations on the transfer of players the bedrock
of the headlines. Source - GNA
