President Mahama must sack Accra Mayor - Lloyd Amoah Lecturer at Ashesi University, Lloyd Amoah has
called on President Mahama to fire the Mayor of
Accra, Alfred Oko Vanderpuije.
“He clearly does not fit into that office, he is
clearly not the gentleman who should be in charge
of policy decisions of Accra, and so the President
must act! we call on John Dramani Mahama to get
Alfred Oko Vanderpuije from his post.”
Dr Amoah, convener of the Facebook advocacy page:
'OKO VANDERPUIJE MUST RESIGN! !Mr, President GET
HIM OUT!!!', made the comments in an interview on
the Citi Breakfast Show on Friday.
The decision by the Accra Metropolitan Assembly
(AMA) to rename the National Hockey Stadium to
honour the memory of the late President, John
Evans Fiifi Atta Mills, has been met with massive
criticism from the general public.
According to Dr. Amoah, “there must be a general
review of the historical circumstances. This
decision is a reflection of a dangerous
leadership.
Look at Accra, you don’t have lights in Accra,
the emergence of fires, the problem of sanitation,
the problems with housing; these are big and
worrying problems facing us, as citizens and
residents of this capital.”
Dr. Amoah insists: “If you have an individual
who is not capable of thinking through a question
such as the right involved in the renaming of a
Monument, how do you expect him to re-organize and
turn Accra into the republic our Ancestors fought
for.”
"It is a slap in the face of Ghanaians and he must
go," he noted.
