Asamoah Gyan scores twice in Top-Of-The-Table Clash Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan’s outstanding form in
the UAE continued on Thursday when he scored twice
for Al Ain to beat Al Jazira 3-1 in the
top-of-the-table clash.
The attacker showed why Al Ain paid a world record
for fee for his loan transfer from Sunderland by
stopping the title holders.The two goals helped Al
Ain, who battled against relegation last season,
to open a four-point lead at the top. Al Ain
stayed at the top of the UAE League after getting
the better of pacesetters Al Jazira with the
Ghanaian showing world-class qualities by opening
the scoring in the first half. Juma Abdullah did
equalise for Jazira, but Fawzi Fayez restored
Ain`s lead before Gyan completed his double. Al
Ain are the only unbeaten team left in the league,
four points ahead of champions Jazira.
Gyan is now the leading scorer in the UAE league
