Emmanuel Baffour is set to make it to the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations final

Ghana coach Goran Stevanovic has defended his
decision to hand striker Emmanuel Baffour his
first senior national team call-up.

The New Edubiase player, who has scored 11 goals
in 11 Premier League games, was the only outfield
local player to make the provisional 25-man squad
for the tournament.

Baffour was a member of the Ghana Under-23 team
who got eliminated from the 2012 London Olympics
qualifiers.

Pundits say his scoring exploit could be a flash
in the pan.

But the Serbian trainer says the 21-year-old fits
the bill.

“Baffour is playing good and scoring goals and
that is why I decided to call him,” Stevanovic
said.
