Young Balotelli plays first game on trials at Stoke Enoch Balotelli – younger brother of Mario
Balotelli played his first game on trial with
English club Stoke City on Wednesday night.
The 19-year-old played 82 minutes in a reserve
game for the Potters against Burton Albion.
The younger Balotelli produced some epic moments
with deft touches in the game which ended goalless
but Stoke’s Academy Coach Dave Kevan insists the
teenager has some work to do before getting close
to the level attained by his brother.
“He’s been with training with us for a while
and it was good to give him a run out,” he
said.
“He’s a good boy but a little bit raw at the
moment. We will just have to see how things
go.”
Enoch who was once linked with a move to Napoli
was born in Ghana before moving to Italy with
Mario where the duo were adopted.
This means he can still play for his country of
birth since he is yet to attain the cut of age of
21 and is yet to feature for Italy’s senior
national team.
If the younger Balotelli does sign for Stoke, the
Balotelli’s will become the latest in a line of
brothers to play in the Premier League.
Some of the more notable families include Gary and
Phil Neville, Rio and Anton Ferdinand, Shaun and
Bradley Wright-Phillips and Manchester United
twins Fabio and Rafael da Silva.
