A top sports presenter in Ghana has been arrested
in Accra for the use and possession of narcotic
drugs, Happy FM has reported.
Police on patrol duties spotted suspicious
movement around the Ridge Area in Accra on Monday
morning where hardened criminals were suspected to
be hiding.
They called for armed reinforcement before raiding
the hide-out where it was discovered that illegal
drugs were being used, the radio station
reported.
Six people were arrested and it was reported that
marijuana, cocaine, heroin and speed were seized
during the raid, along with some firearms.
Among those arrested was the popular sports radio
and television broadcaster (name withheld) and
took him and the others to the Nima Police Station
where they are currently being questioned.
