Laryea Kingston has cancelled his contract with Hapoel Be'er Sheva
Laryea Kingston abrogates contract in Israel Ghana midfielder Laryea Kingston has terminated
his contract with Israeli club Hapoel Be’er
Sheva after just three months at the club,
MTNFootball.com can exclusively reveal.
The 31-year-old ends his stay with the struggling
top-flight club just three months into his
two-year contract.
Kingston agreed amicable sum as compensation for
the 21 months remaining on his contract.
“We agreed to release Laryea Kingston after both
sides agreed on a compensation package for the
player,” an insider at Hapoel Be’er Sheva told
MTNFootball.com.
“He leaves the club with our blessing and no
disagreement at all.”
Kingston was tipped to take the Israeli League by
storm when he scored his first goal for Be’er
Sheva in their 3-0 win over Beitar Jerusalem in
the Toto Cup in August.
But Be’er Sheva coach Guy Levy failed to give
the midfielder some playing time which might have
prompted the decision for both parties to agree on
the decision to part ways.
He has been linked with a return to his former
side in the Ghana Premier League Hearts of Oak.
This is the second time the former Heart of
Midlothian ace has abrogated his contract with a
side in Europe in less than a year.
He opted to abrogate his contract with Dutch side
Vitesse Arnhem in December 2010 after six months
at the club due to the lack of playing time. Source - Ghanasoccer
