Owusu Abeyie has not trained with Malaga for the past two days
Owusu Abeyie axed from Malaga first team over disciplinary problems Ghana winger Qunicy Owusu Abeyie has been axed
from the first team of Spanish side Malaga because
of disciplinary problems and could return to
Qatar.
The former Arsenal player has not trained for the
past two days which has led to fears that he could
be sacked from the club.
Malaga officials are now contemplating the action
against the player, who is on loan from Qatari
side Al Sadd.
His disruptive behaviour has angered coach Manuel
Pellegrini which led to the decision to flog him
to train with the junior side, according to a
report in the Marca newspaper.
Abeyie’s problems at Malaga started last week
when he started arriving late for training.
He was left out of the squad for last week’s
game against Mallorca but his conduct did not
improved which led to the decision to axe him from
the first team.
The Ghanaian has refused to train with the junior
side and has not been seen for two days.
Spanish radio stations say Malaga are likely to
cancel his contract which will pave the way for
him to return to Qatar where his huge salary can
be paid.
The 25-year-old played for Ajax, Arsenal, Spartak
Moscow, Celta Vigo, Birmingham, Cardiff,
Portsmouth, Al Sadd and Malaga.
