Accra to host 'Climate Chance' Summit Africa 2019 Accra will in October this year host the Climate
Chance Summit Africa 2019, a major annual
international conference that discusses how the
world should tackle climate change.
The summit being organised jointly by the National
Association of Local Authorities Ghana (NALAG) and
the Climate Chance Association which is based in
France, will bring together representatives of
more than 1,000 non-state actors working in the
climate change space.
“There will be representatives from local
governments, businesses, trade unions,
environmental NGOs, researches, among others. The
discussion will highlight the engagement of
African actors in fighting climate change,â€
President of NALAG Felix Mensah Nii Annang-La said
at a media launch.
“Different key actors in climate change
space including agriculture and businesses will
discuss working to reinforce mobilization of local
government and non-state actors in the fight
against climate change in Africa,†Nii
Annang-La who is also Chief Executive of the Tema
Metropolitan Assembly added.
The first ever Climate Change Summit held in
Abidjan last year brought together 600
participants from 41 countries including 27
African countries to make specific recommendations
