‘Soldier’ arrested after capturing motorbike thief Police in the Northern Region have arrested a
native of Bawku in the Upper East region for
parading himself as a military officer with the
6BN Regiment in Tamale.
Issah Abdul Mubarik, 37, arrived at the police
station on October 16, 2017 in a military uniform
to hand over another suspect whom he claimed stole
his (Mubarik’s) motorcycle some months back, the

Dinam Zoiku narrated.
“Sergeant Mubarik” told investigators that he
was a soldier with the 6BN in Tamale and went
ahead to write that in his statement to the police
as a complainant.
The investigators were however suspicious of his
conduct, thus launched an intense interrogation
where the suspect made a u-turn admitting he was
not a military officer later at the police station
on October 23, 2017, explaining that the military
uniform belongs to his late grandfather.
The investigators immediately took the suspect to
his apartment at Dungu where they found two set of
military uniforms bearing the name “A.
Mubarik”, one pair of military trousers, two
military sweaters, two military vests, one
military combat boot, one military cap, a pair of
military gloves, two pieces of 9mm ammunitions, a
rubber stamp bearing the name of “Forces Pay
Regiment, Burma Camp Accra”, and some forged
certificates.
Superintendent Dinam Zoiku told 3news.com
“suspect Mubarik is being investigated for
possession of military accoutrements and
impersonation”.
He said the suspect would be arraigned but was
