Kwadaso Agric. College Students boycott lectures over unpaid allowances Teaching and learning activities at Kwadaso
Agricultural Training College in Kumasi in the
Ashanti region have come to a standstill as
students boycott lectures over government’s
failure to restore their allowances.
According the angry agricultural extension officer
trainees, President Nana Akufo-Addo has reneged on
his promise to restore all student trainee
allowances whiles campaigning for political
power.
However, to their disappointment, 10 months after
the President took over power from the NDC
government, teacher and nursing trainee allowances
have not been restored and that he has not shown
any sign to restore theirs allowances.
In view of the development, the student have
decided not to attend lectures until their
concerns are addressed by government.
The Students’ Representative Council (SRC)
President of the college Stanley Mensah hinted
that they will storm the Ministry of Food and
Agriculture headquarters in Accra to demand
answers.
