Cape Coast: Assembly Members Express Worry About State Of Security Assembly Members of the Cape Coast Metropolitan
Assembly have expressed worry about the state of
security within the metropolis following an
escalation in robbery.
At the Metropolitan Assembly’s second ordinary
meeting on Wednesday, the absence of street lights
and police patrol teams in most areas within the
metropolis were concluded by assembly members as
the major cause of robbery in Cape Coast.
Addressing the house at the meeting, the Metro
Chief Executive (MCE) of the Cape Coast
Metropolitan Assembly, Hon. Ernest Arthur
explained that though the security agencies have
been doing their best to contain all major crime
situations, the continuous robbery of residents
shows that a lot needs to be done by the police.
He therefore charged the police to up their game
in bringing to an end the escalating robbery
situation in the metropolis.
The MCE also extended an appeal to hostel owners
at Amamoma and its surrounding areas to beef up
security to protect students who patronize such
hostels.
Hon. Ernest Arthur indicated that the assembly
will continue to work with the police within the
region to enhance security to reduce the
activities of criminals. Source - ultimatefmonline.com
