The Delta Force is alleged to have attacked the REGSEC coordinator in Kumasi

We have no regrets attacking security coordinator – Delta Force
Members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) vigilante
group, Delta Forces say they have no regrets
attacking the new Regional Security Coordinator in
the Ashanti Region, George Agyei.

Vice Chairman of the group, one Akwasi speaking on
Adom FM’s Morning Show “Dwaso Nsem” Monday
said they will continue tormenting the Security
Coordinator till President Akufo-Addo replaces
him.

“We don’t know Mr George Agyei and he didn’t
contribute to the victory of the party and so we
don’t need him. In fact, we don’t regret
attacking him at all and we will continue to storm
the place and torment him till he is changed,”
he said.

Last Friday [March 23rd, 2017], the vigilante
group, Delta Force stormed the premises of the
Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council, demanding
the removal of Mr. George Agyei.

The group destroyed state properties and
manhandled the appointee.

According to the group, they cannot work with Mr.
Agyei who was recently appointed by President
Akufo-Addo.

They said he did not contribute to the party’s
electoral success in the 2016.

Akwasi maintained that they stormed the RCC
because the leaders of the party in the run up to
the 2016 elections promised to give the position
of Regional security coordinator to someone who
can finance their activities for the party.

“Our leaders promised to bring someone who
understands us and that person is Mohammed Seidu.
He supported us when we were all fighting for the
victory of the party in the 2016 General Elections
and so we were shocked to hear that one Mr Agyei
has been appointed and approved. We don’t need
him,” he stressed.

Meanwhile, one person who was arrested by the
Ashanti Regional police command following the raid
at the Regional Coordinating Council has been
granted bail.

The suspect, Kwadwo Bamba, a 37-year-old man and
the organizer of the group is believed to have
played a key role in Friday’s violence.
