Joseph Bipoba Naabu, Yunyoo MP with former President John Mahama in an enhanced photo

I wept just to see Mahama – NDC MP
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of
Parliament for Yunyoo constituency has revealed he
was reduced to tears in his attempt to meet former
President John Mahama at the flagstaff House.

Hon. Joseph Naabu Bipoba said aides of Mr. Mahama
prevented him from seeing the then president when
he had pressing issues to discuss.

The outspoken NDC MP made this known in an
exclusive interview with Adom News’
Parliamentary correspondent Abednego Asante
Asiedu.

His comment comes on the back of the simmering
tension and anger in the opposition NDC after its
defeat in last year’s general elections.

Former national executives are pointing accusing
fingers at some current executives and government
appointees for their defeat after running the most
expensive campaign in the history of the NDC.

Even though a committee led by Prof. Kwesi
Botchwey has been formed to probe the humiliating
loss, the party leaders continue to trade insults
in the media.

Whiles others are blaming former President Mahama
for the electoral defeat, others are calling on
him to contest in the NDC’s upcoming primaries
ahead of the 2020 general elections.

But Joseph Naabu Bipoba who belong to the minority
group maintains that Mr. Mahama will “mess up”
big time should he lead the NDC in the 2020
elections.

But NDC MP for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto
Ablakwa on JOY FM’s Newsfile programme said the
confusion in the party will soon end.

He indicated that the current strife between
current and past executives across the country
will not lead to an implosion.

Mr. Ablakwa who was a former deputy Education
Minister in the erstwhile Mahama government is
optimistic the committee will handle the issue and
solve it amicably.
