Otiko Djaba grateful to Ghanaian women who voted for NPP The National Women’s Organiser of New Patriotic
Party (NPP), Otiko Afisah Djaba has showered
massive praises on all women of Ghana who voted
for Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the NPP in the
just ended election.
According to Madam Otiko Djaba, the NPP could not
quantify the contributions of Ghanaian women (who
constitute over 51% of the population) towards the
party’s one touch victory, but could only say
thank you to them for their unflinching support.
“On behalf of the newly elected First and Second
Ladies of this country, Her Excellencies Rebecca
Akufo-Addo and Samira Bawumia, I want to say a big
thank you to all the women in Ghana; from Upper
West, Upper East, Northern, Volta, Brong Ahafo,
Ashanti, Eastern, Western, Central to Greater
Accra regions and to those who are outside this
country, but supported the NPP in diverse
ways”.
Speaking in an interview with The Chronicle, Madam
Otiko Djaba described the NPP’s victory as
overwhelming and unprecedented in the history of
Ghana.
She attributed it (the victory) to God and the
hard work of all the men and women of NPP. She
specially congratulated the newly elected
President, Nana Akufo-Addo, his Vice Dr. Mahamudu
Bawumia, Ex-President Kufuor, Mr. Alan Kyerematen,
Mr. Freddie Blay and all National, Regional and
Constituency Executives across Ghana.
She said that all the women in Ghana worked hard
for the NPP because they were fed up with the bad
economic management, hardships, marginalisation
and hunger that had visited them throughout the
last eight (8) years of NDC regime.
The NPP National Women’s Organiser, however,
emphasised that, the government of Nana Addo
Dankwa Akufo-Addo would diligently ensure that all
women friendly policies they promised during the
2016 electioneering campaign were implemented.
She assured that the NPP government led by Nana
Akufo-Addo would ensure that 50% of MASLOC served
the interest of Ghanaian women irrespective of
their political, religious or tribal affiliation.
Otiko Djaba also indicated that women in Ghana
would also benefit immensely from the one village
one dam, one constituency one million dollars and
all the numerous social and economic interventions
mentioned in the NPP’s manifesto.
“The women of Ghana deservedly better, they need
employment, they need entrepreneurial skills,
financial support and above all formal education
to bring out the confidence in them. And that is
what the NPP and Nana Addo are bringing on board
for our women and all Ghanaians”.
Otiko Djaba, who is also a development strategist
said that the women of Ghana under the leadership
of Nana Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia would enjoy a
meaningful life and would be offered the
opportunity to contribute to national
development.
She maintained that there shall be no
discrimination against any ethnic, political or
religious group under Nana Addo.
The NPP Women Organiser was particularly
appreciative to the women of Northern Ghana, who
massively voted against the corrupt, selfish and
incompetent government of John Dramani Mahama.
She, therefore, reaffirmed Nana Akufo-Addo’s
promise not to disappoint or discriminate against
the people of the north.
She appealed to them continue to support the NPP
for a better and a prosperous future for all
Ghanaians. Source - The Chronicle
