NDC’s elections officer dies in motor crash The Central regional elections officer of the
National Democratic Congress (NDC) has passed on
Tuesday afternoon at the 37 Military Hospital.
Yaw Asiedu, a Law student, was involved in a fatal
accident on the Cape Coast - Winneba road together
with the party's regional treasurer Eric Entsuah.
The two were sending the party's copy of the just
ended elections results declaration forms
popularly known as 'pink sheets' to the party's
headquarters in Accra when the pick up they were
travelling in crashed, leaving the other officer
in a critical condition at the 37 Military
Hospital.
The two were first sent to the Winneba Specialists
and Trauma Hospital but were later referred to the
37 Military Hospital where Asiedu gave up the
ghost.
The accident has shocked many in the Central
region, especially across the political divide as
Asiedu was a politician who had a great sense of
appeal across the political divides.
The news of his death was confirmed by the party's
regional chairman who described his death as a big
blow to the party as he is a "hard working
gentleman and a great asset to the party".
He served as special aide to the former regional
minister of the Central region Hon. K. T. Addo
before his appointment as the party's regional
