NDC is practising Woyomenomics, not economics - Bawumia
The vice presidential candidate of the opposition
New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamadu Bawumia has
stated that the National Democratic Congress (NDC)
government has over the last eight years collapsed
the economy despite having more resources than all
preceding governments combined.

According to Dr Bawumia, this was a result of
practicing “Woyomenomics” instead not
economics, suggesting also that all that the
government has specialised in is to create
opportunities for looting the state's coffers.

He explained that while the NPP practised proper
economic management and thus did so much with very
little resources, the NDC was busily dishing out
monies to NDC financier Alfred Agbesi Woyome
without a contract and despite the 51 million
Ghana cedis scandal hanging around its neck, it
still went ahead to give him another contract
worth 35 million Ghana cedis.

Addressing party faithful at the party's final
campaign rally held at the forecourt of the Ghana
International Trade Fair Centre themed: ‘The
Battle is the Lords’, Dr Bawumia said such
economic management had led to the collapse of
almost all social interventions instituted by the
erstwhile NPP administration, adding that it is
about time Ghanaians made "a choice between
competence and incompetence, a choice between
corruption and incorruptibility".

Dr Bawumia continued that the NPP administration
under former President John Kufuor for eight years
had only 20 billion Ghana cedis at its disposal
but succeeded in developing the country by moving
the country from 3.7 per cent annual growth to 9.1
per cent .

“That is why I said before that when you have
corruption and you add incompetence it leads to an
explosion of wahala all over the place. Wahala
here, wahala there, wahala everywhere”.

“The leadership of the NDC government over the
last four years under John Mahama has demonstrated
without any question that they are the most
corrupt government in the history of the country
and they are an incompetent government at that,”
he stated.

He further added that the future of the country
was at stake and therefore Ghanaians should leave
nothing to chance on December 7th by coming out in
their numbers to vote out the NDC government.

Dr Bawumia expressed optimism that the NPP when
elected into government will revitalise the
economy and restore all social interventions that
have collapsed under the Mahama administration.

"We are going to build a new economy, an economy
that will be the most business-friendly economy
and the most people -friendly economy on the face
of Africa. We are going to make sure wealth is
created for our people, prosperity for our people,
and reduce the tax burden for our people", he
assured.
