300 NPP Assembly Members of KMA defect to NDC Over three hundred known NPP Assembly Members of
the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly(KMA) say they
have defected to the NDC.
Their main reason for leaving the NPP they say is
the inability of the flagbearer Nana Akufo-Addo to
unite members of the party.
"Ever since he assumed the leadership reigns of
the NPP, Nana Akufo-Addo has succeeded in reducing
a once formidable political force to a laughing
stock which is neither capable of wrestling power
nor governing this country," a portion of a
statement presented at a press conference read.
Among the defectors are a former Assembly Member
for Ahwemasi Electoral Erea, Osei Sarfo Kantanka,
an NPP polling station Chairman for Atwima
Tachiman M/A Primary A School, a former Assembly
Member for Kwadaso North Electoral Area, Eric
Assibey and some others.
They accused the NPP's 2016 candidate of
superintending over high levels of bigotry,
intolerance, and discrimination which has never
been witnessed in the history of the NPP."
Among their reasons for joining the NDC are some
qualities of the 2016 presidential candidate of
the NDC, President John Dramani Mahama including
tolerance.
They said, "beside his stellar unifying and
accommodating qualities, His Excellency John
Dramani Mahama has achieved so much as the
president of Ghana within the short space of four
years in power."
They condemned unreservedly the hooting of
President John Dramani Mahama at the Manhyia
Palace during the observation of the one week
passing of the Asantehemaa Afia Kobi Ampem II. Source - Joyfm
