Innolink burns printing plates for Dec polls Innolink, the company contracted to print election
materials Thursday burnt all the plates used for
printing of the notice of polls for the Greater
Accra and Volta regions under the watch of party
officials, the National Security and the
Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana.
The New Patriotic Party(NPP) earlier this week
accused the company of sneaking out the printing
plate of the Presidential ballot to a man believed
to be an official of the NDC.
Some NPP members subsequently picketed at the
offices of the company in protest of the security
breach.
The NPP however called for the materials to be
destroyed on grounds that more ballot papers could
be printed with the plates and used to rig the
upcoming December 7 polls.
The exercise took place at Agbobloshie in Accra on
Thursday, November 24.
The Head of Marketing at Innolink, Michael
Quatson, said over 600 plates were destroyed after
defacing of the materials. Source - Kasapafm
