We’ll resist EC’s ploy to send faulty BVDs to NPP’s stronghold – John Boadu The Acting General Secretary of the New Patriotic
Party(NPP), John Boadu has said the party will
reject all faulty Biometric Verification
Devices(BVDs) which will be sent across some parts
of the country, by the Electoral Commission.
According to him, the party has uncovered an
alleged plots by the Election Management Body(EMB)
to deploy some faulty devices to their
strongholds.
Interacting with the media in Tamale after a
day’s Capacity Building Workshop for all NPP
parliamentary candidates in the Northern, Upper
East and Upper West regions, Mr. John Boadu raised
concerns over the snail pace at which the EMB is
transporting election materials to the NPP’s
stronghold, insisting that these are part of a
grand scheme to frustrate the process on election
day.
“I’m not going to accept a deliberate attempt
to bring wrong and faulty BVD machines in certain
areas that will break down in not time to allow a
lot more people vote manually. That one will not
be accepted by the NPP,” he said.
He believes majority of Ghanaians will vote for
the three-time Flagbearer of the NPP, Nana Addo
Dankwa Akufo-Addo and hence the party will get
more of their candidates elected to form majority
in parliament in an Akufo-Addo government.
Ahead of December 7, elections, some regions have
started receiving ballot papers along with other
logistics for the 2016 polls.
The deployment by the EC’s materials follows a
successful balloting of positions of both
parliamentary and Presidential candidates for the
upcoming elections.
.
According to the EC, it is battle-ready for this
year’s elections as it has indicated the
commission will deliver a smooth conduct of the
polls come December 7, 2016. Source - Kasapafm
