If Bannerman gets 30,000 I will concede the seat – Nii Lante Vanderpuye
Incumbent Member of Parliament for the Odododiodio
constituency, Nii Lante Vanderpuye has thrown a
note of caution to the Police that they will
defend themselves if they will not do their job.

This follows clashes between supporters of the
leading parties on Tuesday night.

The NPP launched its campaign at Bukom while the
NDC also held a campaign rally at Okaishie after
which violent clashes erupted between supporters
of these parties with some being admitted at the
hospital.

Nii Lantey Vanderpuye in responding to allegations
made by his fiercest rival,Nii Lantey Bannerman
this morning on Accra based Citi Fm,though did not
deny or accept the allegation of punching his
opponent but said he said they will use all means
to defend themselves if the police will not act.

“For months now I have been preaching peace. I
don’t care how you define it. We have reached
our limits. We can’t sit down and these people
will shoot our people just for nothing. If the
Police will not defend us, we will defend
ourselves. They are looking for me and Bannerman
has sat on radio and said they are going to give
me a dosage of my own medicine.”

“I told him that we are from the same house and
it is not right for us to be seen fighting but he
opened that mouth of hi and told me I am
coward…I am a human being and I have people
lying at the theatre. Nii Lante asked his people
to shoot my supporters. For two months now I have
been preaching peace but Bannerman is not
cooperating . I am reaching my limits. If
Bannerman wants peace, I will give him peace but
if he wants war I will give him war.”

The buoyant Nii Lantey Vanderpuye says Bannerman
is no match for him and has also dared his close
contestant that “he will give him only 5 polling
stations” and if he gets a difference of 30,000
votes he will concede the seat to him.
