Be firm, fair: Christian Council to EC The Christian Council of Ghana (CCG) has in a
peace message asked the Electoral Commission to be
fair, even as it is firm, as far as the 2016
elections are concerned.
The General Secretary of the Council, Rev. Dr
Kwabena Opuni-Frimpong, in the message said: “We
expect the EC to be very firm and fair in
addressing all matters of cheating and make sure
that at the end of the day we are going to get a
free, fair and very credible election.”
The December 7 polls have been fraught with legal
battles after the EC disqualified some 13
presidential aspirants from running.
A few skirmishes have also been recorded in some
constituencies such as Suhum and Odododiodioo.
In the CCG’s view, the EC and all institutions
must do everything possible to ensure the polls
are peaceful and fair. Source - Classfmonline
