Th FPSO vessel to operate in the W/R was named in Fmr. Pres. Agyekum Kufuor's honor FPSO Kufuor sails into Ghanaian waters in April Former President John Agyekum Kufuor, arrived in
Singapore Wednesday, for the naming of the
Floating Production and Storage Vessel (FPSO) to
operate in the Offshore Cape Three Points (OCTP)
oilfields in the Western Region, in his honour.
‘The FPSO OCTP is the first and largest vessel
in Ghana to convert crude oil and gas into
finished products on the same platform,’ Frank
Agyekum Spokesperson of former President Kufuor
said in a statement.
According to the statement, the vessel is expected
to sail into Ghanaian waters on April 2017, to
start work.
The Former President Kufuor will be away for about
10 days.
The First Lady, Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo who is in
Singapore will be helping in the naming of the
FPSO.
‘The vessel built by Singapore’s Keppel
Offshore and Marine Company Ltd will process
58,000 barrels of oil and 98 million standard
cubic feet of gas a day from the OCTP fields
comprising Sankofa East – Cenomanian Oil,
Sankofa East – Campanian Oil, Sankofa Main Gas,
Sankofa East Gas, Gye Nyame Gas.
The vessel is owned by ENI Oil, Ghana Limited,
Vitol Upstream, Ghana Limited and the Ghana
National Petroleum Corporation.,’ the release
stated.
