ECG speeds up maintenance works to avert further dumsor The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has
disclosed to Citi Business News it is working to
complete all planned maintenance works by the
middle of November, 2016 in order to reduce the
current power outages experienced in parts of the
country.
The power distribution company, on Thursday
explained that the creeping cuts in power supply
experienced in parts of the country is not an
indication of a return of load shedding or
dumsor.
Some consumers have been anticipating a load
shedding regime with the intermittent cuts in
power supply.
But the Director of Operations of the ECG,
Engineer Tetteh Okyne told Citi Business News, his
outfit has also put in place adequate measures to
offer satisfactory services to customers.
‘We have the equipment we have the people
trained, where ever it is practical we don’t put
off the supply.
We do the work whiles the supply is there and
looking at the period in which
we are we are trying to bring forward all our
planned maintenance so that we can finish
everything by the first or second week in November
for 2016 so that after that then we know that we
don’t have any planned maintenance to do if
there is anything that will only be emergencies or
something critical that has come up’. He said.
