Stephanie Kwakyewaa launches foundation to fight illiteracy Gospel Artiste Stephanie Kwakyewaa, known in the
music industry as “Obaapa Steph”, has bemoaned
the negative effects of illiteracy on individual
development and nation building and has resolved
to wage a relentless war against illiteracy using
her talent as a musician as the driving force.
Speaking to the media at a well-attended launch of
her campaign “EDUCATION TO LEAD”. The Super
talented gospel musicians urged all parents no
matter their social standing must strive to give
their children education. She stressed,
“Education for me remains the only equalizer of
opportunity. I wish I was educated but there’s
very little I can do about .I am however not
looking on helplessly, I have enrolled in an adult
education class to get some basics”.
She was optimistic that if she was educated, she
would have better enhanced her career. She opined,
“Talent alone is not enough, education surely
refines talent”.
In Collaboration with Hallelujah Productions,
“The Stephanie Kwakyewaa Illiteracy
Foundation”, would be touring rural communities
of Ghana especially to encourage parents to give
their children education, especially the girl
